I’m an independent researcher. My articles have appeared on Mondoweiss and al-Mayadeen English. I specialise in how Britain has maintained its interests in the Middle East. I have shown how most of today’s conflicts in the region are rooted in British imperialist foreign policy.

However, a new development or dynamic has appeared that no one is talking about. When the British elite led the calls for regime in Libya in 2011 and then in Syria – with the so-called “British Muslims” generally on board and a minority travelled to de facto assist the British state in its regime state policies. Moazzam Begg met with Mi5 before travelling to Syria. When the Assad government was overthrown, some of these British Muslims referred to it as a “Blessed Revolution”. Yet within a year, the new Syrian leader was shaking hands with Zionist leaders in New York.

So who are the these “British Muslims”? This proposed essay aims to answer this question. I will aim to uncover the political dynamics behind characters and groups like Moazzam Begg, Dilly Hussain, 5Pillars, MAB, etc etc
